A Taxi to the Sky
Ever wondered how those cute little Soyuz capsules make their way up to the ISS?
Have you asked yourself who brought the Russion Orbital Segments to the ISS?
Here is the answer: Behold of the Soyuz Rocket!

Big change #3 - The Solar Array Wings
On we are going with the promissed big changes - here comes the third one!
The Solar Array Wings are now made of the four panes each suming up to 16 panels in total.
Furthermore the outer part of the Integrated Truss Structure - where the solar array wings are attachted - is now made of three modules each. Just like the real one. Therefore you may now attach the solar wings somewhere else. This feature was used on the original ISS for several years, when the P6 Truss was fixed to the Z1 Truss at the middle of the station.
It looked like this those days:
(done with my model by just removing modules and relocating some others)
Time to think of the past
Sorry for the ad: If you like my International Space Station, you might be interested in my MIR Space Station (https://ideas.lego.com/projects/64101) as well.
Uses the same scale and therefore the same Soyuz-capsules!
Big change #2 - Integrated Truss Structure
I promissed big changes and here comes the second one!
The core part of the Integrated Truss Structure is now made of the five modules it is on the original station and therefore detachable!
(from left to right: S3 - S1 - S0 - P1 - P3 segments)
Connected to S3 you'll find the ELC-2, ELC-4, ESP-3 and AMS-02 racks
Connected to P3 you'll find the ELC-1 and ELC-3 racks
Big changes are ahead!
I am intending to to some great modifications to my model of the International Space Station, such as:
- Improving the connections between the US-Lab and the S0-Truss segments
- Transforming all the truss (the big strukture between the solar wings) to be splitable into it's original segments. With that done, you can replay the history of the assambly of the original station!
- Upgrading the solar wings to look much more like the original ones
- Changing the grapple system for the stations Candarm2 and upgrading all modules with an appropriate grapple fixture. With that done, you can use the Canadarm to realisticly play the assamly of the station or rearrange it as you like!
What do you think? Too much on the list?
As a sneek preview, here is already the improved connection between the US-Lab and the S0-Truss!
(I could make use of pieces that came fresh with yesterdays LDD update)
