Knight in Shining Armor

Bold and brave is the gallant knight in his polished armor, lance in hand and shield at the ready.  Poised upon a valiant steed of white, he stands ready to vanquish dragons and rescue those in distress. The heroic knight in armor is a classic icon of medieval European lore that even today is the idealized symbol of the hero who comes to the rescue of those in difficult situation. From the fearless firefighter to the chivalrous police officer, knights in shining armor are still with us.

Composed of nearly 1500 parts, the knight is positioned on a rearing horse and holding a decorated lance held aloft as if waiting to be christened champion of the jousting tournament. The model is fitted to a Corinthian column to make it more like a statuette.  In this position, the figure rises 48 cm (18.9 inches) from the base of the column to the tip of the lance and makes for an impressive build. 

It would be a fitting sculpture for fans of knights, castles, and the mythology of yore or for those simply looking to show their appreciation to the shining knight in their life. After all, wouldn’t everyone love having their very own knight in shining armor watching over them?
