The story
Michael Jordan won the Slam Dunk Contest in 1988 against Dominique Wilkins with a spectacular dunk from the free-throw line. You can read about the story here. His effort was immortalized by a photograph that would become one of the most iconic images in sports history. "Air" Jordan seems to float in the air, defying the laws of gravity.
My inspiration
The photograph transcends the boundaries of the sport of basketball as it symbolizes talent, passion and hard work. A generation of kids had this inspiring poster hanging on the wall. Since Michael Jordan was also one of my childhood heroes, I recreated the photo in the style of a framed poster and tried to keep the surface as flat as possible.
