Are you ready to become the king of pirates? Board to the Thousand Sunny for a thrilling adventure and discover all seas and islands !
This ship is the second one of the straw-hat crew from the manga One Piece of Eiichiro Oda. It was built with Adam wood by Franky, a carpenter and member of the straw-hat crew. Since the island of Water Seven, the Thousand Sunny has taken the crew through multiple islands and adventures in the quest of the One Piece.
This reproduction of the Thousand Sunny is composed of 1059 LEGO parts. It is 53.4cm long, 26.2cm wide and 35.8cm high. You can see the famous lion figurehead at the front of the ship and anchors with the shape of lion paws. Then you can go down the stairs to reach the lawn and take time for a nap under the shade of the trees. If you prefer, you can climb at the top of the foremast to join the lookout from where you can admire the view. After that, if you are hungry, you can climb stairs to reach the kitchen. If you like gardening, there is the Robin's garden on the roof of the kitchen, at the bottom of the main mast. If you still have time, you can enter in the library or the observation room at the stern of the ship.
I built this ship because I have been watching the One Piece manga for a long time. I find this ship very interesting because it is composed of many details and features. Rooms of the ship are very funny like the aquarium or the soldier dock system. Therefore as I am passionate by LEGO since my childhood, I thought it would be funny to reproduce the Thousand Sunny with LEGO parts.
I chose this reproduction size in order to have a sufficiently detailed set with the characteristic shapes of the ship such as the rounded shapes on the side of the hull which are constrained by the choice of LEGO parts. I think that this set should be a decorative item so have a size that can fit anywhere.
This reproduction includes most of the details of the Thousand Sunny. The size is perfect for placing this ship as a decorative element. In addition this set brings together multiple passions : One Piece, pirates, ships and LEGO of course!
