Istanbul

I wanted my first design to be about myself and I started from the city where I was born, Istanbul. There are many cities in our world worth visiting, seeing and living. Lego allows us to build these cities with its architectural series. I enjoy studying architectural series and gain insight into those cities. Istanbul is a very special city that is world-known and admired and hosts an average of 20 million tourists annually. Our city has many more buildings that I could not include in the set and wonderful tourist attractions that were left out of the concept. I think those who come to Istanbul will definitely support and comment. Those who did not come will understand what I mean if they come to Istanbul. I was thinking and dreaming that one day Lego designers would design Istanbul. Then I realized that this waiting was pointless and I took action. First, I tried it with the pieces I had, but I couldn't find the pieces that would make my dreams come true. I decided to design on digital platforms, I met stud.io and I am here because I found the result worth sharing with you.
Project
I do not upload the images of the buildings because they may be copyrighted. Those who are curious can easily access information and images about the buildings by searching the building names.
15 July Martyrs Bridge (Bosphorus Bridge) Dolmabahce Palace Haydarpaşa Train Station Maiden's Tower Galata Tower Balat Houses
I wanted those who looked at the design to understand where it was without reading the name, and I placed the buildings accordingly. I placed the Bosphorus Bridge, which connects the Asian and European continents, at the center of the composition. I placed Dolmabahçe Palace and Galata Tower in Europe, and Haydarpaşa Train Station in Asia. I also positioned the Maiden's Tower, the pearl of the Bosphorus, on the Asian shore. I made the houses around the Galata Tower colorful and multi-piece so that the colorful Balat Houses in Istanbul, which are worth seeing, can also be built. I wanted to offer options to those who will build the set regarding the priority of colors and the placement of the houses. You can place the houses according to the angle you look at the Galata Tower. Even with free pieces, the house became an addable corner.
