The Train Wreck From "The Fugitive"

The Fugitive, first released in 1993, tells the tale of Richard Kimble (played by Star Wars and Indiana Jones actor Harrison Ford), who ends up escaping from the law to try and clear his name, all while being perused by Deputy Samuel Gerard (played by actor Tommy Lee Jones). Despite taking place in Southern Illinois, The film was actually filmed in the Great Smoky Mountains of North Carolina. For my entry, I decided to recreate the famed train and bus wreck, which can still be found today alongside the track of the Great Smoky Mountains Railroad, just outside of Dillsboro. The model aims to recreate the moment before the crash, with Kimble jumping out of the Prison Bus, while the freight train barrels toward it. For the sake of size, only one of the two locomotives (The lead locomotive, and ex-Norfolk & Western GP30) is featured here, alongside the bus, and an approximation of Ford's appearance in this scene.
