Cool Runnings Sled Ride

Feel the rhythm! Feel the rhyme! Get on up, it's bobsled time!

Cool Runnings is a popular, feel good movie from the early 90's. We wanted to build this model to show that even when faced with adversity and criticism, you should never stop believing in yourself...from underdogs to equals!

We designed this LEGO model to capture the magic of the Cool Runnings Jamaican bobsled team and the thrill they felt on each turn. Turn the crank handle to rotate the two belts, bringing turn 1, turn 2, and the finish line to the bobsled team, as their coach watches from the stands. The sled features a sliding and tilting mechanism to navigate the curves smoothly and can also be removed from the track completely to be displayed.

The set is complete with minifigures of Derice Bannock, Sanka Coffie, Junior Bevil, Yul Brenner, and Coach Irv Blitzer.
