Endings and Beginnings of an Adventure
"Who is the main character?" is the question I asked myself when building this ship. There are so many different characters, each with their own story, that it’s hard to know who to root for. Is it the armored soldier on the edge of the plank, who might be saved by some miracle? Or perhaps the pirate hiding in the barrel from one of his colleagues, what could he have possibly done to make him so angry that he had to hide? The carpenter, building a wooden duck toy, might have children waiting for him at home. Someone is sleeping after eating too much,is he celebrating something? The ship is in the middle of a fight, with the cannon still smoking. What’s the cause of the fight? The navigator at the wheel seems to be plotting something, could it be against the captain in her cabin, who is planning their journey?
When I built this ship, I wanted there to be as many stories as possible with the characters. Is it the end of the adventure, or the beginning? The interpretation is up to you.
