The King, the Fool, and the Chocolate Tail
Here’s a glimpse into the whimsical world of Chocolate Tales, a bedtime story created for my children.
---
It was a disaster. Everything had gone horribly wrong.
Phidget knelt before King Garold in the grand hall of Castle Ganachavore, trembling. He should’ve returned from the Isle of Dragons with a bucket of molten chocolate, proving his worth as a knight.
You see, dragons aren’t fiery beasts — they are made of pure chocolate, breathing streams of molten sweetness. Knights of Chocolaruer sailed to the island, shields and buckets in hand, to capture the flowing treasure.
But Phidget’s first day was a mess. He’d forgotten his bucket. And when a dragon lashed its tail in fury, Phidget swung his sword in panic — and accidentally chopped it clean off. With nothing else to show, he fled.
Now, soaked in chocolate, he knelt before the king, the severed tail resting before him.
“Well?” Garold growled.
Phidget gulped. “B-but, Sire... the tail is the best part!"
