The First Story

This is more than just a story, This is a story about the first story. It is wild to think about how important stories are to us as a species, and even more amazing how long they have been around. Stories predate civilization, predate agriculture, probably predate speech as we know it.

What could that first story been about, as our ancestors huddled in caves and built fires to stay warm? Was is about a hunt? A fellow caveman? An animal? Or something more mystical? Whatever the subject, whatever the plot, whatever the ending, it must have been captivating to all that witnessed it. One of the great lost moments of all time.

So join me around this Lego fire and imagine the story being told to this child. You may not understand what is being said, but you get the gist. Be filled with awe and wonder like him, and be warmed by the flames as night descends.
