RETRO: Roller Skates
Roller skating has become a notable, historical phenomenon. In the 1970s, the craze around roller skating became an iconic part of disco culture. It's growing popularity led to the 're-launch' of Roller Derby which became a spectator sport for millions of people. It was clear that roller skating was much more than a physical activity, it was a lifestyle.
For this submission, I created the quad skate with four wheels. I chose to model the skate in various summer vintage colors to capture the fun and joy of roller skating. The alternating background colors with the black borders were inspired by disco floors.
I used many repeating colors to make the puzzle more challenging, but I also threw in some tricks to help you out. There are no repeating skate colors in a row or column, no repeating skate orientations in a row or column, and if you look even closer no same color skate across the entire puzzle is oriented in the same way.
I hope you enjoy my design!
