Gemini Spacecraft

The Gemini Spacecraft is a powerful mechanized battle robot which splits apart into two separate twin space ships: Pollux the starfighter, and Castor the ground tank – named after the two brightest stars of the constellation Gemini! Both ships have nearly identical design patterns with dual rotating canopy pods on each side, and when combined, the ships merge to form the robot Gemini – piloted by the four Futuron minifigures!

The overall theme is a throwback to 1980s Futuron Space sets, and the basic concept of the gestalt robot/vehicle is a nod to Japanese media like Voltron, Gundam, and Super Sentai – which are popular sci-fi series involving teams of fighters who pilot giant battle vehicles.

Pollux is the flying saucer starfighter who forms the upper half of Gemini, and Castor is the ground tank that becomes the lower half of the giant robot. When in robot mode, Gemini has articulated arms, head, and rotating laser cannons, and uses the wheels of the lower half for mobility.
