Pee Wee's Playhouse

Pee Wee’s Playhouse (1986-1990) burst into Saturday morning view following the success of Pee Wee’s Big Adventure (1985) on the big screen. A whirl wind of vivid colors, hypnotic atomic 1950's shapes, enchanting ensemble of puppets and rotating cast of novel visitors, Playhouse packed 25 minutes of veritable FUN into every episode.

Whether by screaming for the word of the day, connecting the dots on Magic Screen, or making a wish with Jambi, Pee Wee Herman was an exemplary and joyful embodiment of play. Creator Paul Ruebens and his team brought this vibrant retro daydream to life through a hand-crafted world of artistic genius which made for a visual masterpiece.

This build features the Playhouse's iconic front door and beloved flower window, as well as brick built residents Chairry, Pterri, Jambi, Magic Screen and Pee Wee Herman himself!

To my lifelong hero, Pee Wee Herman and his late creator, Paul Reubens. Thank you for the laughter, lessons and inspiration!!
