8811R Toa Lhikan & Kikanalo

For this contest I decided to go all out, since BIONICLE is my favorite LEGO theme and as such I felt it neccesary to give it my all. This new creation of mine is a revamp of: in my opinion the best BIONICLE set to have been released 8811 Toa Lhikan & Kikanalo.

This set contains 2 characters from the BIONICLE world both featured in the second BIONICLE movie.

The first one is the heroic Toa of Fire, Lhikan, who was the only survivor of his team, who faced and defeated the Kanohi Dragon. Lhikan is also the one to pass the torch to the Toa Metru. For this model I recreated his iconic gear function and poseability. As well as making him able to ride the Kikanalo.

On the topic of the Kikanalo, its a mighty Rahi beast, that has many similarities to real life rhinos as such I wanted to make a function inspired by rhinos, that being their famous bashing, which has its construction inspired by the Muaka & Kane Ra set. Another 2001 Rahi inspiration can be found in treaded wheels as back legs.
