Bill and Mary: Happy Memories
One of my fondest childhood Lego memories is Ideas Book 6000 from 1980. It focused on 2 minifigures (Bill and Mary) as they travelled around Lego Town before being whisked off by a spaceship to explore Classic Space and then going back in time to the era of the Yellow Castle.
I loved recreating models from the book and Bill and Mary minifigs (made using the stickers from the book) have featured in most of my lego towns.
Now after 45 years of exciting adventures, the time has come for them to settle down and retire so they’ve headed back to the first home they ever built together. Here they can reminisce and enjoy a well deserved rest.
The cottage has been updated with new materials (masonry bricks) and modern features such as solar panels, a satellite dish and a smoke alarm (The original house caught fire in the ideas book!). The cosy interior includes a few mementos of their adventures: a space helmet, shield and even a framed copy of their story.
