Street Race Showdown
When I think of my childhood, I think of small Town sets of the early 1990s. The cars from that era were iconic – each with a unique look and feel using only a handful of LEGO elements. I wanted to capture that same sort of look and feel using modern techniques and sensibilities.
I remember the bundles from that era - “2-in-1 Bonus Offer” and “Legoland Triple Pack” – which combined a few sets at a discount. So, I bundled my favorite race cars into Street Race Showdown – combining my versions of 1991’s 6646 Screaming Patriot and 6510 Mud Runner. I tried to keep the spirit of each, while adding new detail and modern parts.
This Screaming Patriot boasts a 5-wide design, a full V-8 engine, and a tenacious driver ready to win the race. The new Mud Runner offers a lifting roll cage, robust SNOT fender work, and a racer ready to tear up the track. Each still has their classic color scheme.
These new versions of beloved classics are ready to roar through the streets of new and old cities alike!
