Mine Mech: Rock Monster Ambush

Power Miners was my favourite childhood theme, with the Mine Mech being one of my favourite sets from it! As the second smallest set in the original range, it was the perfect gateway to the theme as a whole - and its notable appearance in The Adventures of Clutch Powers made it even more memorable.

Here I’ve reimagined the Mine Mech as if it were designed the same way today’s NINJAGO mechs are, with all the advancements in articulation and form we’ve come to expect.

The Mine Mech’s features are similarly updated - on one arm, a large spring-loaded grabbing claw to pick up the included boulder, and on the other arm a large spinning drill to split it open and extract the crystals inside.

And of course I couldn’t make a Power Miners build without a Rock Monster! With the original molds gone, this new monster is now fully brick-built, and a new breed too - trans-yellow with Power Crystals to match!
