LEGO Kart Racers

I wanted to bring an older theme from my early childhood forward, keeping the features that I liked but updating them with more modern design approaches. Lego Racers, Xalax, and Dome racers were a fun race theme, and I wanted to reproduce what a modern take on Dome racers would have looked like if the LEGO racers game came out today and had a physical set tie in.

A racer set is not fun without enough cars to race, so the cars are inspired by the cars used in the game but downscaled to match modern city race scale and the Dome racers scale and to allow for more than one car to be included. I tried to capture the design philosophy of the original while still updating the build.

The 4 racers were chosen based on how well I felt the colors of the figures and their cars complimented each other when lined up in a race.

Items acquired from the floating bricks are included such as cannon ball, oil slick, and the octan warp boost item.
