The First Train Reimagined
This build depicts a reimagined set from the year 1964 - first fully moveable brick built train. With additions like an exposed coal compartment, bigger rear wheels, rounded smokestacks, buffers and (most importantly) some angles and curves, the set gained a completely new look. To pay tribute, I also made sure to keep some things unchanged - firstly the iconic car wheels and secondly the color scheme. In short, I was aiming for a balance between the new and the original.Personal motivation:The original set predates me by nearly 40 years, but I picked this for an overhaul for a good reason. I have been playing with lego since a very young age, but I always preferred to build without instructions. All my sets are fairly new, so I had to choose something different. Personally, I think that playability is one of the most important aspects of LEGO, so I couldn't overlook a set that uses an element as important as the LEGO wheel in such an iconic fashion.
