Bouldering and Speed Climbing Walls
I love climbing equally as much as I love Lego and I've been doing both ever since I can remember. The moment I saw this contest I knew exactly what I wanted to build. I wanted to make something that would resonate with other climbers while also having that fun factor Lego always has.
The bouldering wall is based on a climbing wall where I first learned how to climb. I wanted to use as many unique pieces to represent handholds that you would find in real climbing walls and with so many attachment points unused, it gives you the freedom to make your own climbing routes using almost any piece you have around the house.
I also wanted to include a speed climbing wall. I measured the height and the positions of the hand holds as accurately as possible at minifigure scale. There's a winch system which allows you to show your minifigures climbing up.
The green beehive piece I used is supposed to represent coiled up rope and wouldn't be included in the final model.
