Location: Argonath

Standing at 42 cm (16.5") tall, this model represents the two statues guarding the River Anduin to either side using around 3800 pieces.

Since the source material was scarce, I kept to the Peter Jackson movie(s), which is why the statues depict Isildur and Elendil, holding an axe and Narsil. The scale is also roughly related to the movie depiction and is around 1:1000, but in the end I just wanted to build a monumental structure instead of calculating every little detail.

To achieve the look of carved stone I used curved slopes and tiles for the robes and other smooth areas of the figures, while using regular slopes and open studs for the rugged rocks around them. Using Dark Bluish Gray for the rocks makes the rather bright statues stick out better from their surroundings.
