Mr. Safety's Scissor Lift Jump

Help Mr. Safety ascend to the top so he can jump into the target zone. A red button needs to be pushed in for the scissor lift to ascend. Once Mr. Safety has reached the maximum height, a latch will keep him locked into position. Flick Mr. Safety in the back of the head to launch him into the target zone.

Objective 1: Push the red button in order to gently lift Mr. Safety to the maximum height, without falling off. (20 points)

Solution: This challenge can be overcome by any robot by simply pushing into the red button. This solution is mainly a coding challenge where teams will discover that precise control of speed will allow Mr. Safety to ascend with a gentle motion so he won't fall off.

Objective 2: Flick Mr. Safety into the target zone, a pink rectangle on the ground 50cm away. (40 points)

Solution: Using what they have learned from Objective 1, teams will now have to build a robot attachment that flicks Mr. Safety at a precise speed in order to aim for the target zone.
