Micro Emergency Response Center 6479
"Calling all Res-Q personnel! We are receiving highly unusual reports of buildings, creatures, and all sorts of things shrinking to an improbable size. Proceed to base with caution!"
While I doubt my brother and I played through that particular scenario when we were kids, we had countless other adventures with this fantastic set! This is my micro version of the 1998 Emergency Response Center (6479), and I can still remember the action you could feel from the cover on the box, with the rescue team heading out in the middle of an intense storm.
I've attempted to emphasize the set's most memorable elements, including the unique open-air control center with its instrument panels (can you spot the hidden surprise?), tools and equipment, the multi-terrain fleet of vehicles with their signature black and yellow striping and vast array of lights, and the unforgettable cords and ziplines, with which many a childhood couch canyon and countertop cliff was traversed. Happy anniversary LEGO!
