Build: B.E.C.K. - Bunny Ears Clock Kit
B.E.C.K. stands for “Bunny Ears Clock
Kit.” B.E.C.K. is a digital clock, driven by four motors. Three of
the four motors move the clock hands: hour, minute and seconds; the
fourth motor drives the Bunny Ears moving linkages. Similar to a
cuckoo clock, B.E.C.K. flaps its ears once every hour and multiple
times at noon and midnight!
Most clock mechanisms are driven with
one power source, (spring, weight, or motor, etc.), and thus need
more gears than the Lego Robot Inventor (51515) includes. B.E.C.K.
utilizes the Scratch Code to simulate a gear driven clock mechanism.
Using Mindstorm’s Block Code (Lego Scratch variant) and the Lego
Virtual Remote Control from the Mindstorm app, the user can setup the
correct time by moving the Remote Control’s arrows for the minute
and hour hands, as well as the A.M. or P.M. light indicator on the
Distance Sensor.
Enjoy!
