Why is the Sphinx missing it's nose?

In this wacky build, sleuthing tourists are determined to uncover one of history's biggest mysteries. Ages ago, Napoleon had his troops shoot at the nose for target practice. But the tourists suspect Napoleon had something more in mind than target practice. Behind the nose must lie a secret chamber! Swinging a hammer into the nose, a secret door slides open... revealing a mad mummy! Whoops, this was more than they bargained for.

World adventurers Johnny Thunder and Jake Raines are exploring the surrounding area hoping to uncover a hidden entrance. Villains Lord Sam Sinister and Baron Von Baron appear to have an evil plan up their sleeves... but Sam didn't calculate being ambushed by a skeleton.

This build is based around LEGO's classic Adventurers theme, and fits within the required build dimensions. The part about Napoleon is historical, but the rest is pure fantasy (or is it?).
