H G Wells' classic sci fi novel War of the Worlds had a classic villain - the Martian tripod fighting machine.

"And this Thing I saw! How can I describe it? A monstrous tripod, higher than many houses, striding over the young pine trees, and smashing them aside in its career....  no mere insensate machine driving on its way. Machine it was, with a ringing metallic pace, and long, flexible, glittering tentacles swinging and rattling about its strange body and the brazen hood that surmounted it moved to and fro with the inevitable suggestion of a head looking about."

The Model:  545 pieces including the street corner vignette.  The head sits on a large ball joint and can be rotated or moved in almost any direction.  The legs and tentacles are fully posable.

The Tripod comes equipped with:  a brick built Martian driver; the mysterious heat ray; black gas launcher and stun tool.  Each tool can be carried in it's tentacles or stored on the upper legs with rechargers, reloads and the steam nozzles - for clearing the gas and announcing the Martian war cry 'ooollah'

The street corner vignette shows a Victorian gentleman rudely roused from his afternoon tea by the encroaching red weed and a marching Martian.
