The Dixi 3/15 DA-1 was the German version of the Austin Seven, which was made under licence by Dixi in, who BMW bought in 1928. A year later, BMW started making an updated version called the DA-2 The 'DA' part of the name stood for Deutsche Ausführung (German Version), and the '-2' referred to it being the second version (although the first version wasn't badged as a BMW). However, production only lasted three years, and ended in 1931.
As this car is clearly very important in BMWs history, It was inevitable that I would build it out of LEGO at some point. It would be a great set for any car enthusiast. My project is 6 studs wide, 16 studs long and is made made of 149 bricks. As with the original Dixi, the interior is quite simple, with just a steering wheel, a dial and some seats. It is slightly to large to be minifigure scale, but it will seat two. It also has a spare wheel.
