Eco-Honeybee Detector

Why the honey bees are disappearing ?  Those who have been caring and paying attention to environmental news over the past few years know that honey bees are disappearing at an alarming rate. “If the bee disappears from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years to live.  No more bees, no more pollination…no more men” - a note from Albert Einstein,  Since a honey bee population collapse would mean an agricultural catastrophe, scientists worldwide have been working overtime to determine the cause of bees dying and to improve a honey bees health as a potential solution.

One of the easiest ways to help rejuvenate the honey bee population is to respect honey bees as well as their colonies.  To further improve the public awareness of the bees’ eradication affect to our ecosystem, in this LEGO project, a nano-solar system robotics bee called "Eco-Honeybee Detector" is created.  Eco-Honeybee Detector (EHD), which is in nano size, will be released to honey bee colonies to follow and monitor closely the ecosystem of honey bees.  EHD will fly back to an identified Transmitter Platform to broadcast the gathered information to the general headquarters daily.  The transmission data of ecosystem of honey bees will be received and studied by scientists.  This research will provide a short-distance monitoring platform for scientists to understand the life of honey bees and to further stimulate colony growth of honey bees in a natural way.

We hope that this LEGO project will provide some public awareness on the issue of bees’ eradication so that we will more care about honey bees and take right steps to stimulate colony growth of bees.

The design of Eco-Honeybee Detector is inspired by the Bubble Ship from the science fiction film "Oblivion" by Joseph Kosinski.

Thank you very much for your time to read this LEGO project.
