Ideas In The Wild - The POTACS In Braunschweig

I've been to "Steineland Harz+Heide 2018" this weekend and had the POTACS with me. Although the huge Berlin Science Fiction MOC it belongs to is now finished and gets disassembled, the POTACS will hang on and travel to Hamburg with me to be at the exhibition "Floating Bricks 2018". I also took my "Moments In Space" Contest-entry with me, where one of the POTACS crew has a surprising blind date - have a look if you like and brick on!

I am on a good way to get the first 100 supporters. To have 10.000 one day is unlikely enough but one should never stop dreaming!

Here is the mini POTACS, hope you like it

POTACS update 1

I had another session with my camera, the POTACS and some lights, dry ice and some new perspective.

In total the POTACS features four main hatches: two of them at each side opening to the operating/cargo deck, one underneath opening to the detention deck and one top hatch for loading.

The minifigures going along with it (from right to left) are: Cpt. Peter Peterson the pilot, 2x ground rescue squad trooper, 2x heavy enforcing officer, 2x convict. All figures fit into the POTACS easily.

The model stands steady and is well balanced. Its structure is very tough, it's supported by technic parts within. It once fell a meter or so to the ground and only took 5 minutes to repair (thanks to the good people of Octan maintenance). Even though to me it seems a bit tricky to assemble because of different interlocking techniques once build up it's highly playable. It's definitely a fun and challenging build, soon i hope to be able to provide instructions.

The cockpit easily opens to put the pilot in his seat. Theoretically he could walk upwards back into the operators deck while the POTACS is on autopilot. The detention deck however is not nearly as well accessable going upwards, it came out a bit low but that's only good enough for serious criminals

The POTACS main tasks are reinforcing and helping in police roit work, transporting troops, cargo and convicts on ground level and into orbit as well as functioning as headquarters and intranet hotspot. It also features a protection shield, orbital and suborbital G19-direpulsor engines for speed, 4 non-lethal Günther Z42 riot rubber pallet guns for ammo, lots of room and a sleek, owl-like design for manouverability

It was designed by the M-Tron, a civilization from a system near Beteigeuze that takes a leading role in ship engeneering throughout the whole known multiverse

The light effects are provided by regular Lego light bricks as well as a laserpointer and differently colored lighting. Dry ice was used to have some more atmosphere. It doesn`t hurt the bricks, only makes the photographer tired. I also experimented with some outdoor shots.

If you like the design, please support and leave some intel ;)

Soon there's gonna be another project by me so stay tuned!!

Oh i nearly forgot: there is lots more of this stuff on my flickr page, hope you`ll visit
