Welcome to MiggyBoomBricks' first LEGO Ideas submission!

Axolotls are endangered aquatic salamanders who only live in one place: a freshwater lake in southern Mexico City. Aztecs were the first to find Axolotls and named them after their god Xolotl, the god of fire and lightning.

I first became intrigued by Axolotls in my middle school science class. I was later excited when Axolotls were introduced as a Minecraft character! With your support, I hope to inspire people to learn more about Axolotls and ways to help this critically endangered species survive. Plus, they are just so stinking cute!

Cool Axolotl facts:

  • There are less than 1,000 Axolotls in the wild :(
  • They can regenerate almost every body part
  • Wild-type Axolotls come in a variety of colors such as dark gray, green, black, and brown
  • Many people have Axolotls as exotic pets
  • Home-bred Axolotls tend to be pink
  • Axolotls stay in a “juvenile” state because they do not undergo metamorphosis

The model is scaled to a real Axolotl.
All of the limbs including the head, legs, and tail move and can be posed.
The Axolotl can be detached and reattached easily from its base.
