What is This Set
This set is a model based off of my personal Case IH 395 utility tractor. I wanted to provide a collector quality look and feel for a LEGO tractor, while also keeping the set fully functional. In addition, I wanted to do something different by allowing builders the option to build the different configurations that this tractor can come in and show how not all tractors work on the farm but can be optioned with different features so it can adapt to work in different environments. Wherever you work, there is a Case IH utility tractor
everyone can use, and match to your taste.

Features of The Tractor
The tractor comes with 6 main features:
  • Drive (To a 3-cylinder engine)
  • Steering (With an oscillating front axle)
  • PTO (Geared up 4:1 for higher speed)
  • 3 Point Hitch
  • Removable access cover and hood for easy engine access.
  • Can convert from a "Utility" tractor to a "Low-Profile" tractor (More next paragraph.)

Attachments/ Accessories
This tractor also comes with a couple attachments, such as a box blade and 3-point pallet forks. These forks can carry the pallets that contain the parts needed to transform the 395 from a "Utility" tractor to a "Low-Profile" tractor. As the name suggests the "Low-Profile" configuration lowers the overall height of the tractor, which is achieved by using smaller tires. The exhaust is re-routed downward to give it a lowered stance and a smoother hood line. The front axle is slightly modified to allow the smaller tires, as well as allow a shorter wheelbase to give a tighter turning circle.

A box blade is also included. It features 6 rippers for extra functionality, or they can be removed based on your preference. It has an angled edge on the inside of the blade and works by rolling any material forward and preventing it from escaping underneath. The closed off sides and flush bottom edges prevent material from escaping as well. The blade is designed to work in either direction giving it extra versatility.

Finally, the pallet forks offer different adjustment options, with each fork having 3 holes of adjustment. This gives you the ability to widen, narrow, or side-shift the forks as you need, giving you 9 combinations in all.

Why Would This Make a Great Set
If there were a reason for this to become a set, it would be to break the pattern that has cursed LEGO tractor models since set 851, in that they are either technic models that bear little resemblance to their source material, or system models that have little functionality compared to their technic equivalent. I want this model to set the precedent for what future tractor sets from Lego should look like, while offering the same features of its real-life counterparts.
