Lisbon, Framed

Lisbon is a city of unique charm. Its historic center is filled with buildings of a distinct and harmonious style, nestled on a series of hills. Narrow and steep paths connect these neighborhoods, giving the city its iconic, layered appearance. For those who wish to avoid the climb, Lisbon’s classic trams, funiculars, and lifts provide a scenic and convenient way to reach the hilltops. From there, you can stroll down at a leisurely pace, soaking in the vibrant character of each neighborhood.

Along these routes, you’ll encounter several famous viewpoints offering stunning panoramas of the city. My personal favorite is the Miradouro das Portas do Sol. From here, you can see hundreds of white-walled, orange-roofed houses cascading down the hillside - a breathtaking view that captures the essence of Lisbon.

As a LEGO framed art enthusiast, I wanted to recreate this view in a unique, artistic form. Using a 48 x 64 brick frame as my viewfinder, I’ve captured a cropped glimpse of what you would see from this specific viewpoint. Plates, tiles, and wedge plates are the primary elements that construct the form. Various shades of yellow, orange, and red help me bring depth and a sense of natural light to the scene.

This framed picture looks beautiful on a wall, table, or shelf, fitting seamlessly into LEGO’s interior decor and art themes. I believe it opens the door to new possibilities, perhaps even a series of framed landmarks capturing the unique styles of cities around the world. This set can be a reminder of a special memory, a dream destination, or simply a beautiful piece of decor.

If you’d love to have this set in your room, and expect to see more LEGO sets like this, please consider voting for my project. I very much appreciate your support!
