Nakagin Capsule Tower
This set contains a small scale model of the Nakagin Capsule Tower in Tokyo, Japan.
The building is a 1972 landmark standing in Tokyo's Shimbashi district. It is an architectural icon famed for the capsule design applied by Kisho Kurokawa. A total of 140 capsules are attached to the two towers with 11 respectively 13 stories. Due to its deteriorating state at the moment, this landmark is under the threat of demolition.
Modelling the building with LEGO parts adds up to an almost abstract appearance underlining the building's genuine structure. This model would look great on any desk or shelf.
The model is standing stable by itself on two 2x2 columns and has a height of 15cm/5.9inches. Optionally a black 4x8 or larger base plate could be added as similarly used in the Architecture series.
The presented set consists of 475 parts.
