Hy-Vee Grocery Store

Hy-Vee is a Midwestern chain of grocery stores known for being “a helpful smile in every aisle”. Having worked at Hy-Vee for 4 years, I knew the store layout inside and out and recreated bits and pieces of it into the build. With your support, this LEGO Hy-Vee could be in your next shopping trip!

This impressive model is built on a 48x48 baseplate and can be connected to a modular layout or just by itself. Either way, it is sure to make a statement with its size and extremely detailed exterior. There is so much more in store!

Main Floor-
The grocery store is fully stocked with many different foods and two checkout counters. Fruits and vegetables can be found at the refrigerated section in the middle. Shelves full of boxes of food can be found on the wall behind. Just around the corner is the meat department. Everything from crab to chicken can be found in the refrigerated display case. A walk-in freezer is located right behind the meat department. Swinging doors make sure to keep the cold in! The freezer wall comes off for easy access to the confined space full of boxes, pipes, and ice. A large door on the other side of the freezer connects to the storage. The storage may be narrow, but fold out the back wall for easy access to the crowded area full of boxes and shelves. The storage also includes a loading dock with an opening door and ramp to unload products.

Second Floor-
Upstairs you can find lockers for people to store their personal belongings while they work. There is also a time clock on the wall to keep track of everyone’s hours and a bench to sit while they wait to clock in. The office wall comes off for easy access to the small room with a computer and chair. The break room is located on the other side of the hall. It has two tables and chairs to enjoy a break. The small counter has coffee maker and cups, as well as a paper towel roll to clean up any spills. Just make sure to wash hands with soap in the sink before returning to work.

Thank you for taking the time to check out my project! I can’t wait to see what’s in store!
