Blue Bird

In 1935 Sir Malcolm Campbell, driven by a desire for the land speed record, unveiled his latest creation in the Blue Bird line with this heavily streamlined creation. With it, he became the first man to break the 300mph barrier at the Bonneville Salt Flats in Utah. Following this record beating run, Sir Malcolm went on to break several water speed records before retiring from record breaking. After the Second World War his son, Donald Campbell went on to break several land and water speed records.

This model works perfectly as either a display piece or as a means of recreating those famous record breaking attempts from the 1930's.

The model contains 195 pieces and features the characteristic narrow profiled wheels - including the double set on the rear drive axle - as well as exhaust ports for the 2300 horsepower V12 engine.
