Hello everyone! A big thanks goes to @sNICKers77 for introducing me to this castle!
This submission is based off the Hohenzollern Castle. Located on the top of Mount Hohenzollern, on the south side of Hechingen, German, it makes for a very picturesque scene.
Some brief history on the real castle: It was originally built in the 11th century, and although the appearance was unknown, it was presumed that the castle was artistically valuable. However, in 1423, the castle was destroyed. From 1454 the castle was constructed even larger and more fortified. It changed owners repeatedly, and at the beginning of the 19th century it was in ruins. In 1850 Crown Prince Fredrick William of Prussia had Hohenzollern castle reconstructed and redesigned. Then, in 1952 Prince Louis Ferdinand of Prussia had the interior of the castle furnished with valuable pieces of art.
This submission is a microscale version, of course, because this castle in minifigure scale is too big for a product submission. Whilst I have never visited in person, this, I had to look at reference photos constantly. If you want to you can compare the pictures of the real castle to this submission, and tell me in the comments how well I replicated it.
The reason why I built this is because, of course, I really like castles! This was a big challenge, and it took me about 10 hours in total to design it. I built many iterations of it, but then finally decided on this one. This also has 630 total parts.
