In the distant future, the environment of the earth was harsh.
Highly developed AI created mecha adapted to its natural environment.
The mecha were designed with reference to living organisms.
We can learn a lot from organisms that have survived since ancient times.
Opabinia is a strangely shaped archaean creature that lived during the Cambrian period.
With five eyes and a robotic arm-like projection on its head, it is thought to have caught its prey like a modern dragonfly larva.
Although these robotic arm-like projections are thought to have been used to catch prey, some believe that they were actually of little use.
Opabinia's eyesight was weak, as were the sensory organs at the end of the robotic arm-like organ.
They may not have been able to grasp their prey and bring it to their mouths because they were unsure of where their mouths were located.
Some believe that the extinction of Opabinia was the result of adding more functions to its body than it needed.
They may have had many functions but low individual performance, leading to disadvantages such as energy consumption and weight gain.
We hope that through this work, people will become interested in archaea such as Opabinia.
