Shikara is a boat made of wood found on Dal Lake and other water bodies of Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir, India. They are of varied sizes and are used for transporting flowers, fruits and even people. A popular tourist attraction.
Comparable to the Gondola found in Venice.
Note the sloping canopy , which provides shade for the tourists. The oarsman is standing on a colorful carpet.
