Lego Architecture - Chichén Itzá Set

This Lego set is proposed in the collection of Lego Architecture, which generates small scale models of great landmarks of architecture.

In this case, we have tried to create a model of the famous pyramid of Kukulkan in Chitchén Itza, Mexico.

Number of bricks: 585.

The pyramid of Kukulcan, also known as El Castillo, is where people comes to see the decline of this God, in the beginning of the Spring Equinox .

Is located in Chichén Itzá which was a Mayan city believed built in the year 500 BC

This construction is the protagonist in the equinox because that lowers the feathered serpent.

The Maya were able to perform in this pyramid a "game" of light and shadow, which occurs during the equinoxes to represent the body of the sacred snake down from the top to the bottom of the pyramid.

The geometric design has a pyramidal shape, with nine levels, four facades, each with steps and a pavilion.

This site serve the God Kukulcan Mayan surrendered; has symbols that hint at the most important numbers.

Chichen Itza in 1988 was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2007 and the pyramid was chosen as one of the New Wonders of the World.

The height of the pyramid of Kukulcan reaches 24 meters to the top platform, plus 6 meters from the shrine able to measure 30 meters.
