This Superliner Coachclass Car was built by Bombardier from 1980 to 1986. This is the 2nd version of the Superliner cars since the 1st version was built by Pullman. The Superliners are 26 feet tall and typically run on long distance routes such as the: Coast Starlight, Southwest Chief, Auto Train, Capitol Limited, Empire Builder, Sunset Limited, City of New Orleans, and the California Zephyr.
This Superliner is in the iconic IV paint scheme of Amtrak. There are several versions of the Superliners: Coach Baggage, Coachclass, Dining Car, "Sightseer" Lounge, Sleeping Car, Transition Sleeping Car, and Coach Smoking Cars (No Coach Smoking cars are in service since all Amtrak trains are non-smoking.
