Springfield Armory National Historic Site

For our 11th vignette design celebrating the National Park Service we wanted to expand on the number of historic sites we currently feature.  Springfield Armory National Historic Site, located in Massachusetts, celebrates the first armory established in the United States by George Washington in 1794.  One of the highlights of the park is the "Organ of Muskets," a display of stacked Civil War muskets.  In reality there are 647 muskets on the organ.  This vignette features 64 muskets, a Park Ranger, and an excited visitor.  Let me know what you think of this design, and what other National Park sites you would like featured in future vignettes.  I am currently working on designs for Great Smoky Mountains, Valley Forge, John Muir, C&O Canal, and have the early ideas for a Grand Canyon vignette.

Once again, Thank you everyone for our continued support and please keep spreading the word about this proposed LEGO Ideas set.  We are over 6300 supporters on our way towards the required 10,000.  We your help we can make it in no time!

99th Anniversary of the NPS

This past week the National Park Service celebrated its 99th anniversary.  In honor of this momentous occasion, here is my LEGO version of the legendary photo from 1922 of NPS Founding Father Horace Albright at Yellowstone National Park attending a "Bear Dinner."

And here is the original photo for comparison:

Thank you everyone for your continues support of this set.  With your help we are over 6,000 supporters and will be at 10,000 in no time.  Please continue to support, share, and promote this proposed LEGO Ideas set.

Acadia National Park

In honor of today's 99th Anniversary of the National Park Service, here is our latest vignette idea.  Acadia National Park, located in the state of Maine, is an overwhelming combination of beautiful ocean views, historic sites, lighthouses, and rugged mountains.  This vignette features a LEGO version of Cobblestone Bridge, a picturesque site along the historic Carriage Roads.  With this vignette we now have 10 official designs for LEGO to choose from when this proposed set reaches 10,000 supporters.

As always, thank you very much for your continued support.  Please keep sharing this set everywhere and with everyone possible.  With your help we will be at 10,000 supporters in no time.

Clara Barton National Historic Site

Let's add a ninth design to our growing list of National Park Service LEGO Vignettes.  Clara Barton National Historic Site, located outside of DC in Maryland, is the home and office of one of the most famous women in American history.  This vignette shows a Park Ranger and Clara Barton in her office with her beloved pet cat.  Let me know in the comments what you think of this design and if you have other NPS sites you would like to see as future vignettes.

And once again we are humbled by the overwhelming support this set has received so far.  Keep sharing the link and letting everyone know to register their support.  We are well over half way and get closer to 10,000 every day!

Eight Vignettes and Counting!

Here is a photo that combines all eight of our official National Park Service vignettes options that we have so far.  Vignettes ideas include the original three Katmai, Saguaro and Everglades, and newer options including Yellowstone, Independence, Death Valley, Assateague Island, and Hawaii Volcanoes.    If you had t pick your top three or four for the eventual set, which would they be?  And are there parks that you would like to se included in future updates?  Let m know in the comments.  More vignette options are coming soon...

Top Three

Recently, I had a totally unscientific poll on the Facebook page supporting this project.  I asked fans to pick their top three National Park vignette designs to include in the final set.  Out of the eight official designs so far, a majority, two people,  picked the Yellowstone, Death Valley, and Katmai designs.  That selection of vignettes is now illustrated in this phot.  Were the fans right?  Should this be the combination of vignettes when this project hits 10,000 supporters?  Let me know in the comments.

Yellowstone National Park

Our latest National Park Service LEGO Vignette is one of the true crown jewels of the NPS.  Yellowstone National Park is the first National Park.  Yellowstone is home to Bison, both Grizzly and Black Bears, a giant lake, and incredible thermal features.  this vignette depicts possibly the most famous feature in the National Park Service, Old Faithful Geyser.  Let me know what you think in the comments and please continue to share other park vignette ideas.  And please continue to spread the word about this project.  We are very close the half way!
