UCS Antonov An-2
UCS Antonov An-2 Steel Buddies
The Antonov An-2 is the world's largest single-engined biplane, which is still in use today. Since the Antonv An-2 is a multi-purpose aircraft, it is used today in various fields. Noticeable is the large wing span, which measures in original 18,175 and so short starts and landings are no problem. The first flight, by the way, was already filled on August 31, 1947.
Probably, the Antonov An-2 is much better known by the Steel Buddies series. There the specialist Michael Manousakis is accompanied with his people, among other things, restore an old Antonov An-2 and bring it back to life. Southwest of Germany Michael Manousakis started with the Antonov An-2 and crossed the Atlantic to the USA. The flight to the USA was a real sensation.
Inspired by this prehistory, I decided to build the Antonov An-2 and I think that the varied construction of this aircraft is great fun. The biggest challenges were to create the proportions and design of the aircraft. Especially the substructure, where I placed Lego stones upside down or at a 90° angle, was particularly difficult to achieve as perfect a shape as possible.
The Lego figure is created and corresponds to Michael Manousakis.
This set would certainly fit well into topics like Exclusiv, Expert or UCS.
