        <div>Today, we embark for a 60,000 years journey, all the way back to the <strong>Dreamtime</strong>, acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land, and paying our respects to their Elders, past, present and emerging.</div><div>This Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islands inspired artwork is a <strong>tribute to First Nations artists</strong>, as well as <strong>Australia</strong> in general, and aims to make great use of Lego colours, shapes and techniques, for an epic and vibrant result :)</div><div><br></div><div>It features:</div><ul><li>Four different sceneries, with the rivers, the forests, the desert and the sky, colourful composition of major natural forces, separated by series of dots. Typical of Aboriginal art, those dots had been chosen in a “glow in the dark” white colour for a dramatic effect when night falls;</li><li>A postcard of <strong>Uluru</strong> at sunset, where the sky, the rock and the desert make use of various “SNOT” (Studs Not On Top) techniques to display various shades of yellows, oranges and reds;</li><li>A mainstream river using various rounded elements on a layer of transparent bricks, and spreading some tow balls along the way, to which fauna can be attached in various positions and orientations</li><li>A secondary river whose stronger current is figured by flexible hoses;</li><li>Eight rosaces of various sizes, using the most of Lego intricated geometric system, spanning across the desert’s sky and the river. Concentric circles are very common symbols in First Nations artworks, usually used for a place, a waterhole, a fire or a camp;</li><li>A starry sky, black canvas made out of various brick shapes, where a twirling galaxy converges like a river in the dark sky to the most famous constellation Down Under: The Southern Cross;</li><li>A eucalyptus forest, where trees are made out of hinges pieces and plates of various shades of lime. Various bars stick out horizontally from the trees;</li><li>The Rainbow Serpent, one of the most important being in the Aboriginal stories of the world’s creation;</li><li>Two “First Nation” mini figures wearing traditional paintings -a man and a woman- chatting in the bush, around a fire camp, under a Desert Oak. The fire camp uses “glow in the dark” amber colour, to add some natural lighting effect, although using a brick light could have been an option;</li></ul><div><br></div><div><img src="https://ideascdn.lego.com/media/generate/lego_ci/e25b35bb-5866-4117-8d95-517c0eea13df/resize:1200:675/webp"></div><div><br></div><div>And last but not least, eleven of <strong>the most iconic Australian animals</strong>, cutely brick recreated at a small-scale format; please meet the tribe: Lou the <strong>kangaroo</strong>, Emmi the <strong>emu</strong>, Niel the <strong>crocodile</strong>, Enzo the <strong>turtle</strong>, Adele the <strong>humpback whale</strong>, Leeloo the <strong>cockatoo</strong>, Julia the <strong>kookaburra</strong>, Jay the <strong>manta ray</strong>, Marcus the <strong>platypus</strong>, Ythak the <strong>whale shark</strong>, and -of course- Mia the <strong>koala</strong>.</div><div><br></div><div>Oh, there is actually two more -not counting the Rainbow Serpent-, one also very iconic yet not as appreciated, half hidden behind a rock, and one hidden outer space, can you spot them?</div><div><br></div><div>I do believe that this 3082 pieces set, measuring about 54 x 27cm (68 x 34 studs, not counting the bits and pieces sticking out of the main baseplate) would be a great display in any house, and an appreciated addition to the Lego Art series, its construction would keep seasoned builders entertained for hours while cute animals would delight younger ones.
