A while back after having shied off Lego for a considerable few years, my interest was sparked again by the release of the Imperial Dropship which featured 3 Storm Troopers and one Shadow Trooper. This set was of course intended as an army builder and I purchased quite a few. I had plenty of troops, but also plenty of dropships.
So I did what you usually do with Lego; take them apart and along with a few extra bricks; kit bashed them in to original vehicles to build up my army.
First up are the figures and the MGP (Mobile Gun Pod)
The Warlord and his Storm Commandos which are based on characters from the actual SW Expanded Universe. Their helmets are originally an Imperial guard helmet and Scout Troopers helmets painted gloss black. The Warlords shoulder pad and torso shroud are made from black paper card.
Had I had transparent bricks I could have shown that the MGP standing behind them is intended to be a one man craft and not mistaken for a gun tower.
LARC – GS (Low Altitude Reconnaissance Craft)
When in full flight mode, its four Repulsor lift engines rotate 90 degrees to its aft to give it full thrust.
Finally we have the MS7 Imperial Gunship (MS jokingly standing for Mid Scale). Wanting to include the Gunship to the Battalion, I worked upon a scaled down version so as to avoid building a larger and more expensive version that matched the colour scheme of the other model crafts.
One thing absent from the Gunship are its port and starboard shield doors. The wings seen here can be raised for deployment of troops.
