What is it?
This
is Order-5 truncated pentagonal hexecontahedron. It is made by combining 60
hexagons of different colors. This shape is also known as “Fullerene C140.”
Why did I build it?
I
decided to build this because “doomsdayrule” commented about my Lego idea “Soccer
ball/ Fullerene” and introduced this shape to me.
Why do I believe this would make a great LEGO set?
The
concept is very simple yet very difficult to make because this is very fragile
and it can be easily broken by its own weight. Also, if the hexagonal shape and
angle between each hexagon is not arranged precisely, the outcome would not be
as pretty as wished. I dedicated more than 6 hours to make this model. But,
after all these hours of work, I managed to build it. It would be great if you
could support this idea in addition to my Lego idea of “Soccer ball/ Fullerene”.
