A little background on this model…

I ended up getting a galaxy trooper and alien trooper from series 13 of LEGO minifigures awhile back.  I thought these minifigures were so cool, I wanted to construct a ship that would be perfect for any expedition they may embark on.  When building, I used many different techniques I learned from building other LEGO sets, mainly Star Wars sets.  Many of the classic spaceship designs from the Star Wars series helped inspire me to design this model.  This is the final product.  So, without further ado, I present—The AST/E (Armed Space Transport/Explorer) Garuda!

Discover new worlds and search throughout multiple universes for resources with the crew of the Garuda.  Utilize the tools and storage in the cargo bay when on missions, or fend off space pirates by manning the turret!  Use the twin forward cannons to burst through asteroids and safely maneuver through asteroid belts.  The 5x Quad-brick engines makes it one of the fastest vessels in the galaxy, providing much-needed hyper drive capability.  The dual cockpit allows for two of the crew to man the ship, with plenty of open space and seating in the back.  There is also a crew quarters near the cargo hold with functional doors.  The retractable landing gear gives the ship a sleek design when in flight mode, and the sturdy handle allows for the ship to be held with ease when holding or playing with it.  The ship opens up to display the detailed interior, with easy access to the interior components of the ship.  There is also a functional lever behind handle on the top of the ship that allows for the loading ramp to open and close!

I believe that the sturdiness and functionality of this ship would create a great building experience and an even better model to play with!
