Zoinks! As classic LEGO themed sets go, there isn’t anything more nostalgic and beloved than the animated series Scooby-Doo. With amazing sets like Back to the Future and Ghostbusters hitting shelves in the LEGO store, why not keep up the tradition of cherishing timeless characters by making the Scooby Gang the next CUUSOO success.

Debuting in 1969 with “Scooby-Doo, Where are you?” this sensational crime solving phenomenon has been entertaining fans for over 40 years, and is still airing today with its latest sequence titled “Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated.” In 2013, TV Guide ranked Scooby-Doo the fifth Greatest Cartoon Series of All Time.

This project would include the groovy gang of four crime solvers: Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Norville “Shaggy” Rogers and the legendary scaredy-cat Great Dane, Scooby-Doo!

The vintage van The Mystery Machine will include an opening side and back doors, plus a pull away roof for a closer investigation of the van’s high-tech interior. Jinkies! Featuring all the items necessary for Mystery Inc. to solve the lasted supernatural incident, this van comes equipped with: rope, magnifying glass, binoculars, fire extinguisher, handcuffs, flashlight and – we can’t forget the most important courage booster, Scooby Snacks!!

With this LEGO set, you will be the ultimate decider if this band of loyal friends can bag the latest diabolical masked villain and save the day!

Some of you might be questioning how LEGO could obtain the license when Character Building owns the rights to the Scooby franchise. In truth, LEGO might have difficultly in getting the rights to produce a competitive product, but remember there are a slew of Scooby Doo items manufactured today. Some of these companies include Mattel (Hot Wheels), TY Beanie Babies, Pressmen Board Games (i.e., Monopoly, Clue, Sorry), and NKOK AVT (remote control cars). If the LEGO Company were to release this set as a one-time promotion (aka CUUSOO product) the licensing agreement might be a non-issue. After all, Character Building does have the rights to Disney’s Planes, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Mindcraft (LEGO’s 3rd CUUSOO release). I hope this relieves some of your worries! :-)
