Data and story about the "Kushan" Scout
Development:
The Scout was built as support for the Kushan mothership during the opening stages of its journey. Because of the purely peaceful profile of the mission, some of the Kiithid (clan) thought that an armed scout would not be necessary. In the end, the warrior Kiithid managed to earn the support of the majority and the Scout went ino production. The final ship design was first officially tested in Kharak orbit where several target drones were deployed. The trials proved the Scouts were ready for the mission at hand, clearing the way for the mothership to test its hyperdrive.
History:
True combat trials for the Scout occurred in the outskirts of the Kharak system after the hyperdrive test, where the Scouts had to defend the mothership against the hunters and corvettes of the Turanic Raider carrier. Assisted up by the Interceptor and the Light Corvette, the Kushan were able to repel the attacking Turanic Raiders in their first victory. Scouts, though lightly armed and armored, were present on the battlefield all the way to Hiigara. Their high speed and afterburner made them a very difficult target for Taiidan units to hit, so they were often used to pull the enemy away from heavily damaged capital ships, or to distract enemy fighters during a bomber attack.
Ship information:
- Ship Type: Hunter
- Purpose: Reconnaissance
- Speed: 1000 m/s (3,600 km/h - 2,237 mph)
- Armaments: 2x Small projectile cannon
- Skill: Afterburner
- Lenght: 15 m - 49 ft (for example like the jet fighter F-16)

Background story about the game and the folk "Kushan"
Homeworld is a real-time strategy game released in 1999, developed by Relic Entertainment, distributed by Sierra Entertainment. It was one of the first real-time space strategy games with full freedom of movement into all three spatial dimensions. The game became a series with three titles and a later remaster.
The background is the story of a folk who colonize the deserts Kharak and undertakes the first steps in space travel. By chance, this folk, under the sands of the Great Desert, discovered the remains of a 4000-year-old spaceshipwith the remains of a hyper-space propulsion, left behind by the ancestors of the Kharakians. In the vicinity of the ship, a fundamental object of the game, the so-called "lead stone", is a black stone with engravings and figures showing a point in the outer western spiral arm of the galaxy (Kharak) and another point near the galactic nucleus. Next to this is a single word, older than Kharak's oldest clan: "HIIGARA" - HOME.
Subsequent investigations suggest that the stone originates from the area of the center of the galaxy, probably the home of the Kharakians, as "Hiigara". This supports the theory of xenogenesis, which states that the Kharakians are not from Kharak. Soon the whole planet is only looking towards a target: to explore the origin of its stone. All remaining and already scarce resources Kharaks are set to build a huge colony ship in orbit, which is to bring a selection of 600,000 persons to the founding of a colony on the old home world. This "mothership" has plenty of room for the colonists and the ancient and hardly explored hyper-space drive, which allows huge distances to be overcome in a very short time, even a fully-equipped shipyard, from simple hunters to heavy cruisers can build. But over time a much bigger problem than the construction appears: the data transmission. The mother ship is so complex that even the largest and best supercomputer Kharaks are unable to process the amount of information and manage the infividual sections at the same time. The problem is solved quite radically by the same researcher who discovered it: Karan S'jet, a neurologist who connects her own brain to the mothership to maintain the stream of data. All this is very dangerous, but the only solution is the past and future of the people of Kharak. Karan S'jet is from this time the fleet command and embedded in the mothership. After 60 years of construction, the mothership is completed and undertakes an initial exploration journey by hyperspace drive to the outer areas of the Kharak system, where it will meet the auxiliary ship "Khar Selim". The aim is to improve the drive and analyze the hyperspring core, the main component of the hyperspring drive.
The "Khar Selim" is found destroyed and strange enemy ships attack the mothership. After the annihilation of the attackers, the mothership returns to Kharak to complete the necessary work on completion. But they are expecting a smoldering heap of rubble around the old homeland planet, the habitable pole caps are destroyed and completely covered by a black layer of smoke and debris. Only the colonists in their cold sleep chambers survived in orbit and must be protected against the attackers, parts of the fleet of a vast interstellar empire, which exiled the Kharakians to Kharak prisoners thousends of years ago. After the colonists are taken to the mothership, it collects the last recyclable raw materials and fleees into the hyperspace before the attackers return.
After the annihilation of the homeland there is no back, it is only going forward - Hiigara is the only possible hope of the Kharakians to survive. In an epic odyssey, the mothership crosses the half galaxy with an ever-growing escort fleet, each mission bringing new battles and challenges, as well as new friends who support the exile. The homeless fight pirates, strange nebulae and imperial fleets, look for allies at vast spacheship courtyards, and slowly but surely get closer and closer to the galactic nucleus and learn about the empire through which the Kharakians were once exiled. Within whis empire, a civil war threatens to break out, and the apostates are at the side of the exiles. The mysterious and mysterious Bentusi trades, an ancient and peaceful folk, provide the Kharakians with technology and information in exchange for a small proportion of raw materials. The climax is then the final battle high over Hiigara against the iperial fleet and the emperor himself, who are now inexorably defending the already close-to-home world.
