Hi, I've built a LEGO 3D topographical map of the UK in a vintage style - I love maps and wanted something artistic to decorate my home, and I thought this would be perfect for displaying on a wall. There have been some 2D LEGO Art sets recently but I wanted to create something that made the most of building in three dimensions in LEGO.

I chose to create a map of the UK because it's where I'm from, but also because I wanted to build a map to show both ocean and land. The UK has a really interesting coastline and mountains that I thought would look great in LEGO and would be fun and educational to display.

I took inspiration from the old LEGO maps you'd get with a pirate set, so I've added a compass, a ship and an anchor. And no map would be complete without a hidden treasure, take a look through the images to see what I've buried! And to make the build extra fun, the bottom layer of the map showcases the flags of each country.

The map is the size of two 32x32 baseplates (25.5cm x 51cm) and is made up of 1373 parts. The frame is reinforced and I've added a bracket for hanging on the wall, or it can be propped up on a shelf.

Thank you for visiting and I hope you enjoy the map as much as I've enjoyed building it. If this is something you'd like to hang on your wall, please support me by sharing it with your friends and family :)

UPDATE: Based on your feedback, I am now planning to design additional maps as part of this submission i.e. so that it is more of a 'map building kit' than just a UK map. But before I can do that, I need to know what the other maps should be, and I want to hear what YOU think.

What other maps would you like to see included as part of a 'map building kit'? Your home country? A fictional map?

Let me know in the comments section and I'll use your feedback to plan my next map, which I'll update here
