Welcome to the Meteorological Observatory!
The Idea
Way above all the levels of daily sorrow, on a lonely pinnacle somewhere up in the high mountains, there's a special place that only very few of us will ever set foot on: the meteorological observatory. Here, a small group of scientists does all their research and experiments on meteorologies that simply wouldn't be possible down in the valley due to either the extreme temperatures and high altitude effects or all the confounding effects of civilization like air or light pollution. To fulfill these tasks, the observatory is equipped with a huge telescopic dome and other various measurement devices, which helps the scientist gather all the required data for their studies. To keep everything running at this very exposed altitude, a small material ropeway travels once in a while downhill to fetch all the needed goods for the whole crew of the meteorological observatory.
The Build
The build consists of:
- Meteorological observatory
- Propelled telescopic dome
- Propelled material ropeway
- Central drive unit with gearbox
- Floating viewing platform
- Telescopes and various measurement devices
- Kitchen with sitting area
- Falconry with shelter
- Observatory director, two scientists, two employees, photographer, drone operator, electrician, mechanic, falconer, wanderer, and, as always, some animals
The Functionality
The functionality is the following:
In the basement, there's a central drive unit with a gearbox. With its gear lever, you can choose whether you want to propel the telescopic dome or the telescopic material ropeway. Instead of working the crank manually, you could also easily replace it with an electric motor (not included). Plus, there's a little lock mechanism for the basement's trapdoor that can be operated at the back of the building, too.
